The new Covid-19 tier system - what it means for hospitality

Covid-19 tier system

As England is coming to the end of its second lockdown of the year, we are facing a whole other challenge with the updated tier system coming in to play on December 2nd.

Majority of the country will enter the two of the toughest restrictions that have been laid out to curve the spread of Covid-19, but hospitality is bearing the brunt of the tier strategy.

Under the new restrictions coming next week, pubs in Tier 2 regions will only be able to open if they serve substantial meals - with different households being banned from mixing indoors unless of the exemption of a single household or support bubble.

All Pubs and restaurants in Tier 3 regions will only be allowed to offer takeaways or delivery services and must remain shut as we come out of lockdown.

It goes without saying that businesses in hospitality will face their biggest challenge yet to get through this on the other side, here at Hopsy we want to support in any way we can and help the hospitality industry get back on its feet!
